Darren Bergey, M.D.

Dr. Darren Bergey is a fellowship trained spinal surgeon.  Dr Bergey treats a variety of degenerative and traumatic spinal conditions from the cervical to the lumbar spine.  He has special interest in minimally invasive spine surgery techniques including XLIF, minimally invasive decompression, total disc replacement (primary and revision), microscopic posterior cervical foraminotomy and he treats failed spine surgeries.

Dr. Bergey is experienced in the latest minimally invasive techniques which are continuing to emerge.  The focus of his practice is choosing the least invasive and most effective methods to treat spinal problems.  This helps to reduce the negative effects that standard approaches to the spine can cause and allows for less pain, expedited recovery time, earlier rehabilitation, and increased overall patient satisfaction. 

Dr. Bergey has expertise in Disc Anthroplasty, a surgical procedure that replaces a painful disc with a mechanical disc.  He is one of 125 surgeons, nationwide chosen to be the first to utilize the ProDisc design which is now FDA approved.  His experience and positive results, in both single and multi-level disc replacement make him a leader in
disc Arthroplasty in the Inland Empire.

Dr. Bergey graduated from Loma Linda University Medical School.  He graduated 5th in his class of 150.  He trained at Cedars Sinai Institute for Spinal Disorders.  He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Bergey’s office is located in Colton, Ca.  He operates out of Loma Linda University, Loma Linda Community, and St. Bernadine Hospitals and continues on staff at Cedars-Sinai.

Dr. Bergey has authored numerous articles in the field of spine surgery and has presented his research at both national and international meetings.
